The Workforce Resume

For a student entering the workforce, a resume should not just be a list of chores. It should be a Skills-Based Narrative. In the EgretEd model, we highlight your technical proficiency and your reliability (your "Steady Stones").

This template is designed to get a 17 or 18-year-old noticed by a foreman, a shop manager, or an apprenticeship director.

Resume Tips

ℹ️ The 'Verb' Strike

Start every bullet point with a strong action verb (Constructed, Repaired, Managed, Calculated). Action verbs show what you did, not just what you were responsible for.

ℹ️ The Formatting Rule

Keep it to one page. In the trades, "Efficiency" is king. If it is too long, they will not read it.

⚠️ PDF is Final

Always save and send your resume as a PDF. It keeps your formatting "Steady" so it looks the same on every computer. Never send a .doc or .pages file.

💡 Egret's Wisdom

"A resume is just a blueprint. The interview is where you prove you can actually build the house. Carry yourself with the quiet confidence of someone who knows their tools."
